BetonGuard is a special multi-purpose powder compound extremely effective for the preparation of waterproof and high performance concretes. The system is acknowledged by UNI EN 206-1:2006, 3.1.23, type II.

Pozzolanic additions can provide significant benefits in the mass of concrete, thus drastically reducing its porosity boosting, at the same time, its mechanical and chemical resistance.

The raw materials that make up BetonGuard – from Nano and Micro-silicates to reactive stabilisers – are carefully selected and of the highest quality to ensure exceptional and steady results.

SPECIFIC ASPECTS AND POZZOLANIC EFFECTS

The specific surface of Nano and Micro silicates, the main components of BetonGuard, is very high. This is the basis of the extraordinary hydraulic and pozzolanic capacity that makes the product stand out. BetonGuard’s reactive fillers, which mark its composition, fill the gaps between the cement granules and between the latter and the aggregates. Concrete with BetonGuard will therefore show no segregation or bleeding.

CHEMICAL-PHYSICAL SIDE EFFECTS

Thanks to its components, BetonGuard reacts with free lime or calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2, which is the most soluble and unstable constituent of the cementitious conglomerate. The pozzolanic behaviour, that is, the densifying and filling effect of the porosities, combined with the amorphous silica-calcium hydroxide reaction, makes the cementitious matrix much more compact, therefore mechanically stronger and more waterproof.

EASY TO USE

Adding BetonGuard to concrete provides excellent waterproofing and noticeable increases in its mechanical performance.

It can be added to the concrete plant, or to the truck mixer on site. There are no restrictions on its use.

NO NEED FOR TRADITIONAL WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS AND MATERIALS

Waterproofing takes place at the same time as casting. There is no loss of time on site due to traditional waterproofing work. Any of the above costs, including those for their implementation, are totally eliminated.

Furthermore, there is a significant cost reduction in the works carried out above and below the water table.
